On the Cape Cricket Gap Year volunteer programme you will be coaching cricket each day to children in schools, clubs and townships and at weekends have the option of playing cricket for a local club side.
The Cricket Gap Year programme provides coaching opportunities on a daily basis throughout the season. These are run in local Schools & Clubs in Paarl & the Boland Province by the Merwe Genis Cricket School.
Project Type: Cricket Coaching in Schools & Clubs under the direction of the Merwe Genis Cricket School.
Location: Paarl, Malmsbury & Ceres in Boland, Mbekweni Township in Cape Town, South Africa.
Duration: 4 weeks / 10 weeks / 20 weeks.
Description: Organise coaching sessions and games for keen players in the community
Experience: No prior coaching experience or qualifications are required, but a basic understanding of the game and/or playing experience is necessary
Age: Volunteers must be 18+
Ideal for: Pre-university gap year students; university undergraduates; postgraduates; qualified coaches; career breaks.
