Short Term Gap Year Placement
The short term programme option is designed to provide an option for Gap Students to form a part of wider travels or for a Club Coach who is looking for an extended cricketing holiday.
(4 weeks) £1,400
Intermediate Gap Year Placement
The 8 week programme provides opportunity to take in more of the real SA cricket experience.
You will be a regular coaching team member and will have the opportunity to play half a season of club cricket. You will be assigned to coaching programmes as the regular face of the Merwe Genis Krieket Skool. You will have the opportunity to really play a half season of club cricket in the Boland /Cape Town leagues and will also have the opportunity to travel or relax over the Christmas period.
(10 weeks) Oct - Dec or Jan - March £2,800
Full Gap Year Placement
You will be assigned to coaching programmes as the regular face of the Merwe Genis Krieket Skool. You will have the opportunity to really play a full season of club cricket in the Boland /Cape Town leagues and will also have a number of weeks off to travel or relax over the Christmas period.
(20 weeks) Oct - March £5,000
Price Includes:
Accommodation
•Student accommodation (half-board) at Sports Hostel in Paarl.
Transport
•Airport transfers - pick up from Cape Town International Airport, Full travel from Cape Town to Paarl and Stellenbosch.
•The group have daily use of the Cape Cricket vehicle to/from coaching and practice sessions.
Coaching
Coaching placements at the Merwe Genis Cricket School with hourly coaching fees paid in local currency
(average R500 p/week)
Playing Opportunities
Each student will be introduced to and assigned to a local Cricket Club, their membership paid for the season,
enabling them to play each weekend in the local league and train with the club at least two afternoon/evenings each
week throughout the season.
The Cape Cricket squad will also play selected mid-week matches against Schools and weekend games
against clubs.
Social Events
•A traditional welcoming South Africa 'braai' on arrival.
•Wine tours around the Cape Winelands Vineyards.
•Trips to Newlands & Boland Park to watch Provincial matches.
•Regular visits to Stellenbosch University social events.
Clothing
Cape Cricket training kit will be issued to each student to include:
•Training t-shirts
•Training shorts
•Training caps
Price DOES NOT Include:
•Flights - Flight to Cape Town
•Personal Travel Insurance - Around £100. (we use & recommend Bowlin Insurance for Gap Travel Insurance).
• Food or Drink - A food and drink budget of £5 to £10 per day should be adequate.
•Players will need to have enough money with them to enjoy themselves should they wish to do some touring around
whilst in SA plus extra leisure activities over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
Fees are due in advance and a 10% non-returnable deposit is due when you book your place with CapeCricket.com Early bookings make it much easier to lock in exact numbers for accommodation and also to plan extra coaching staff that may be required.

your travel and visa applications to enter South Africa.
